Meet the GGF Board Members
GGF Board Members are elected from across the Federation’s infrastructure – including the Glazing Executive, the Home Improvement Executive, the Regional Representatives Committee and the Flat Glass Manufacturers Association.
John Agnew – GGF President and Chairman of the Board
Business Development Manager, Independent Glass
John has been on the GGF Board for many years representing the Glazing Executive. He held the position of GGF Vice-President for one year before being appointed President in 2017.
UK Business Development Manager, NSG Pilkington
Tony’s background in glass manufacturing is considerable and he has been on the GGF Board since 2012 representing the Flat Glass Manufacturers Council and more recently the Glazing Executive. Tony’s knowledge and acumen of the political arena has also seen him elected to the GGF Political Strategy Committee in 2017.
Marketing and Technical Director – Window Solutions, REHAU UK
Gareth started in the industry 20 years ago with REHAU and has been involved in product development, technical, sales and marketing. Gareth joined the GGF Board following his election as Chairman of the Systems House Group which was set up in March 2017.
Managing Director, Supaseal Glass Ltd
With over 20 years’ industry experience, Alex was elected onto the GGF Board in 2016 to represent the GGF Regions. He has been Chairman of GGF Scotland since 2012 and is particularly active in political and technical issues affecting Scottish Members. He has been instrumental in developing the GGF’s strong working relationship with Historic Environment Scotland (HES).
Mark Austin – Vice President
Hazlemere Windows Company Ltd
Mark is currently Marketing Director at Hazlemere Window Company Ltd in High Wycombe, where he’s been for over 10 years.
Though a graduate with a degree in Archaeology & Geography, he has worked in Sales & Marketing for over 35 years, during which time he was the elected Chairman of the southern region of Marketing Managers Association for more than 5 successive years, chairing quarterly meetings of commercial managers from the Premier League, Championship, Leagues One & Two.
Mark is currently Chairman of the GGF Window & Door Group and sits on the Home Improvement Executive as well as the GGF Board
Saint-Gobain Building Glass
Elected onto the GGF Board in 2017, Mike has over twenty five years industry experience in both window systems and glass. Michael is currently Marketing Director for Saint-Gobain Building Glass United Kingdom and Ireland.
With a strong academic background including an MBA from Nottingham University, and a degree in Design and Technology, Mike also has professional qualifications gained through the Chartered Institute of Marketing and from Cranfield University School of Management.
Mike’s represents The Flat Glass Manufacturers Association (FGMA) on the GGF Board and is also an elected Member on the GGF Glazing Executive and the GGF Political Strategy Committee.
The Window Company (Contracts) Ltd
With more than 40 years SME experience, David Thornton created the award winning The Window Company (Contracts) Ltd in 2010, so has real insight into the sharp end of the industry. He been on the GGF Home Improvement Executive since 2016 and was elected Chair of this Executive committee in 2017 when he was also elected onto the GGF Board.
David also sits on the FENSA and RISA Boards and is an elected Members of the GGF Marketing and Communications Committee. In 2018, his company became the first ever to attain Gold Level on the GGF’s GLASS Charter Health and Safety Scheme.
