Window Film History
The GGF formed the Window Film Group in the 1980s
though the innovation itself was first developed in the USA in the 1960s as a tinting solution to automotive glass.
Since those early days, window film has become an
affordable and viable option to upgrade the glass in
windows, doors and curtain walling to;
- reduces solar heat gain and glare
- improves energy savings
- Improves thermal insulation
- filters at least 99% of UV
- Improves safety and security (is a counter terrorism measure)
- improves explosion blast mitigation
- Increases privacy and adds decoration
- Manifestation, signage and branding options
- Protects glass from graffiti and vandalism
Window film application is one of the most cost-effective and popular methods to substantially reduce heating and cooling costs in buildings by reducing the amount of heat transfer through glass.
Meeting regularly, the Group welcomes companies who have an interest in the Window Film sector from throughout the supply chain.
